Our History

The Scotties Soccer club was started in the late 70’s. The club competed under a select division of competitive soccer ran by Spokane Youth Sports Association and Washington State Youth Soccer. In the late 90’s Ron Evans, a Scotties coach at the time, worked to help organize the club efforts. Ron was a fan of the San Jose Earthquakes, whose colors happen to be Royal Blue, White and Black, thus the Scotties colors were chosen.

In early 2005, Fred Bowman, another Scotties coach, started the process to form the first Spokane Scotties club election for the board and officers. The Board consisted of Fred Bowman (President), Jim Pratt (Vice President), Allen Berry (Treasurer), Tami Booey (Secretary). Later, we completed the Board and elected the three additional members. The club continued to grow and develop under SYSA playing in District 6 Washington State Youth Soccer. In early 2014, the Spokane Scotties Soccer club members voted to work with IEYSA under US Club Soccer. As a club the Scotties have always focused on the best interests of the young athletes in the region. We’re focused on developing sportsmanship and team work in Spokane.

Under the new structure our athletes typically play soccer under the Puget Sound Premier League “Copa Division”. We have benefited with this new partnership as our teams have the opportunity to advance to the highest level of premier soccer. Today we offer competitive soccer ages U-10 through U-19.

As a club we are open to change and doing what is in the best interest of Spokane soccer and young athletes in the region. We look forward to the future of Spokane soccer and know the Scotties will be a huge part of it.
